Ecommerce Brands Answer
How does AI decide which products to recommend?
AI looks at the question in front of it and tries to match that question with products it can understand. There is no single public formula for every AI system. So make three things very clear: what your product is, who it is for, and when it is a good fit.
The same product can fit one question and miss another
“Best travel blanket” is one question.
“Best washable blanket for an elderly parent in assisted living” is a different question.
The second buyer cares about things the first buyer may not: washing, weight, comfort, ease of use, and who the blanket is for.
If your public information answers those things, your product is easier to match to that question.
There is no one judge
Google, marketplaces, review sites, shopping systems, and AI assistants do not all work the same way.
That is why chasing one magic 'AI score' is a dead end.
Make the product easy to understand
- What is it?
- Who buys it?
- Who uses it?
- What problem does it help with?
- What makes it different?
- When is it not the right choice?
- What proof supports the claims?
The useful target
Ask yourself: if a stranger landed on your public information, could they quickly understand why this product belongs in this buyer's situation?
If the answer is no, AI may have the same problem.
