Local Expert Answer

Does my business address or the areas I say I serve determine where AI thinks I work?

Your street address and your service area are not the same thing. If you travel to customers, clearly say where you serve. To the buyer, that may matter more than where your office happens to sit.

Question 5 of 10Topic: Local Relevance & Service AreasPublished Sep. 24, 2026JB-reviewed Sep. 24, 2026

A Clearwater customer may not care where your desk is

A restoration company may have an office in Largo and still serve Clearwater, Dunedin, Belleair, and other nearby areas every day.

If the website only shows the Largo address, the public may never learn the full service area.

Say where you really work

If you serve customers at their homes or businesses, make the real service area easy to find.

Do not make people guess from the office address.

Do not turn city names into a trick

Listing a city does not guarantee you will rank or be recommended there.

The goal is not to sprinkle place names everywhere. The goal is to tell the truth about where you actually serve.

The better question

Ask, “If a buyer in this city needs what we do, can they clearly see that we serve them?”

That is far more useful than assuming the office address defines the whole market.
